UK AMBASSADOR IN SPAIN VISITS CORTZIO HQ

Early this year, the Ambassador for the United Kingdom in Spain, Simon Manley, visited Cortizo HQ, in Padrón, A Coruña.

he high diplomat, accompanied by the Advisor for Political Affairs of the embassy, James Birk, chatted with the management team of Cortizo.  The Galician company, led by the president, José Manuel Cortizo and CEO, Raquel Cortizo. 

"It was a proud moment for us that the highest representative of the United Kingdom in Spain wanted to know first-hand about our facilities, and from where thousands of tonnes of aluminium profiles leave every year for their market," said Raquel Cortizo.

Cortizo is a large multinational business in Aluminium and UPVC and maintains a close commercial relationship with the United Kingdom. In the last financial year, it sold more than 6000 tonnes of aluminium profiles with a value exceeding 25 million euros, which represented 11% of its sales abroad. Simon Manley, expressed his satisfaction with "the strong presence of Cortizo in Great Britain for almost three decades" and wanted to transfer equanimity before Brexit, giving assurance that in spite of the exit from the European Union,

"The United Kingdom will continue welcoming companies and foreign investors with open arms and will continue to be a land of opportunities for Galician companies that want to expand internationally, "he added.

During the meeting, the Cortizo management team took the opportunity to inform the Ambassador of new projects of the Cortizo Group  in the United Kingdom, where they plan to build one of the new logistics centres foreseen in its 2017-2020 Strategic Plan. 

"Our enclosure systems are increasingly in demand in the United Kingdom “that is why we have already begun the steps to create a delegation there, that will allow us to attend our clients with more immediacy for architectural profiles," said Raquel Cortizo.
