Aluminium Extrusion

Introducing our Marketing and Communications Manager

We are delighted to announce that Lauren Grady has joined the Vision Profiles team as Marketing and Communications Manager.

Lauren benefits from a prior knowledge of the business, and will be remembered by some of you, having previously worked for Vision Profiles as an Account Manager for Vision Profiles and Cortizo key accounts.

This previous experience has equipped her with an in depth knowledge of the day to day running of the internal sales department which will undoubtedly be beneficial in her new role.

Lauren’s initial focus will be to build the Marketing side of Vision Profiles to the benefit of both the company and our customers; building business visibility and identity within the industry whilst further developing our customer centric approach to all areas of our business.

At the same time Lauren will familiarise herself with all aspects of the company, working with each department to gain valuable insight into every element of Vision profiles, whilst also building her knowledge of the aluminium extrusion sector.

Ultimately our Managing Director, Alan Grady, will be handing over the title of UK Sales Agent for Aluminios Cortizo to Lauren.

Historically, throughout Cortizo, the Sales Agents have handed the title down to a family member – and Alan intends on this tradition being upheld.

Lauren is aware of the responsibility that this entails, she explains, “This is a significant role, one that will take great understanding and comes with huge expectations. I am eager to get started and put in place the foundations for a plan which is so integral to the future of the company.”

“I have a passion for people, and customer service; building relationships and gaining trust on the merit of what we do. This, and desire to learn and become part of a legacy as successful as Cortizo and Vision Profiles, is all the motivation I need.”

She adds, “I’ve learnt a great amount from Alan; the importance of learning, hard work, determination, but most importantly – loyalty.”

“Alan has remained loyal to his customers from day one of Vision Profiles and true to his initial promise. That is, to deliver the highest quality of service and a service that is totally bespoke to them. I plan on working alongside him to continue just that. The bar is set high, and I have every intention of succeeding to meet it.”

Vision Profiles: Meet Our Staff

As Operations Manager at Vision Profiles, Alicja Paliczka has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the aluminium extrusion industry.

Starting in 2005 as an operator in the fabrication unit of one of the former global producers of aluminium extrusion, Alicja built up an extensive knowledge of the industry, becoming a CNC Operator, then a CNC programmer and subsequently moving from the shop floor into the office and starting as Production Planner and Sales Co-ordinator for all fabrication accounts.

Further responsibilities were added and after becoming Operations Manager in charge of the fabrication department, 2 years later Alicja was approached by Vision Profiles.  The company had created an Operations Manager role within the management team and knew of her excellent reputation in the aluminium extrusion industry.

Starting at Vision Profiles in April 2015 as Operations Manager, Alicja’s role has evolved over the last 18 months and she is now responsible for all Operations, including Fabrication, Packing, Kitting, Material and Capacity Control, Planning and the Warehouse as well as some purchasing responsibilities.

As Alicja explains, “It is much easier with the whole operations reporting to the same person.  It allows us to put a lot of new procedures in place, designed to make work processes and procedures more efficient.”

“As a result our work flow will be redesigned to become smoother and quicker and our Fabrication Operators and Packers will be trained in both areas which will allow more efficiency and flexibility.

“We are also working on training with our HR department.  We are in the process of reviewing it at the moment and we will create a training matrix so we can build new skills and knowledge and improve our standards still further for our customers.”

As a leading specialist in the supply and stockholding of high quality bespoke aluminium profiles Vision Profiles is well known for achieving a high standard of quality, both material, product and in customer relationships.  The company deliver a range of services including design advice, aluminium extrusion, anodising, powder coating, aluminium fabrication, assembly and stockholding and kitting services.

Alicja explains, “We look at improving internal efficiencies to pass on the benefit to our customers, but our real ethos is finding out what the customer wants and delivering it.  If that is a custom made box or special labelling then we will do it.”

At Vision Profiles getting to know our customers and building a relationship is a huge part of who we are.  So for those of you who have not met Alicja perhaps you would like to know a little more about our Operations Manager?

Alicja has a Masters in Management and Logistics (completed distance learning while working in the UK) and a degree in International Trade.  But being so dedicated to her job you may ask what she does in her spare time?

As an adrenalin addict, Alicja is a qualified C Licence, sky diving free flyer and formation sky diver.

As Alicja explains, “I started skydiving 4 years ago, raising money for Cancer Research Wales. I enjoyed it so much I carried on, I like the freedom and the adrenalin rush, you can forget about everything else when you are up there. I also like walking, hiking, kayaking and scuba diving – I am open water qualified.”

“I find it hard to keep at ground level – I am either very high or very deep – even when we go hiking we have to go high, so we have a view!”

Fortunately for Vision Profiles Alicja does manage to keep her feet on the ground and continues to provide an excellent service for Vision Profile customers!

Cutting Edge Technical Design Department for Vision Profiles

At Vision Profiles one of our most valued company assets is our friendly and approachable staff who share over 50 years’ experience in the supply of aluminium extrusions.

Our team has a wealth of knowledge in all areas of the business from warehousing and distribution to sales and business development which enables us to offer an unrivalled, responsive customer service experience.

One of the newer functions within the Vision Profiles management team is that of Technical Manager. However, although a new position, the occupant, Stuart Hartley, is far from new to the business and indeed the market sector, having nearly two decades of experience within the industry.

Stuart Hartley’s role as Technical Manager is designed to develop Vision Profiles already excellent customer care by providing assistance with technical design.

Ultimately the technical department will be responsible for all quotes as well as working with customers from the early stages of product development to provide design advice and offering solutions for any challenges they may have.

Stuart will provide a link between the sales and production departments, with all three teams working cohesively to meet customer requirements, using their combined technical experience in the extrusion industry.

As Stuart explains, “At Vision Profiles we can build up a relationship with our customers. That is how we differ from a big company, we can be more personal and we are more approachable and work together.”

Vision Profiles has invested in the most up to date technology available including the best 3D CAD Software and a 3D printer to deliver the most comprehensive design service possible for customers.

If customers need a sample it can be made in ABS and the customer can hold it, no more need for expensive and time consuming wire eroded extrusions.

Stuart adds, “The new role combines all of the passions that I have. I studied engineering at college and I have always been obsessed with making things, how to make things better and thinking of every detail of a design before I start. My dream is to do a classic car or motorbike restoration. I found something in my life I love and that is what has driven me for the last 18 years. Now I can translate that into my work life, to the benefit of our customers.”

“I have been out to Cortizo to get some experience within their technical department which I can bring back to my role at Vision Profiles. I always believe if you have passion you can learn anything, if you only have knowledge you can’t.”

As Alan Grady, Managing Director of Vision Profiles summarises, “At Vision Profiles we have passion, knowledge and experience which combined enables us to work to the highest standards in everything we do.”

Vision Profiles gains ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Accreditation

Vision Profiles, as one of the leading UK stockholders of quality aluminium extruded profiles, is pleased to announce that the business is certified to the requirements of the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2008, issued by BSI and accredited by UKAS.

Providing quality products and services is a core principal to Vision Profiles. The company is focused on meeting or wherever possible surpassing the expectancies of customers and this philosophy is carried throughout the organisation.

Vision Profiles has established, documented and implemented a quality policy and related processes designed to provide products and services which exceed customer needs and meet the requirements of the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2008, accredited by UKAS.

As Paul Bowers, Quality Manager for Vision Profiles explains, “ISO 9001:2008 accreditation forms the framework for all our company activities and processes. It ensures a consistent and thorough approach is maintained and allows us to make sure we are meeting the same high quality standards, each time, every time.”

“We previously had the accreditation, but we felt that the auditing company were not challenging the business. They would come in once a year, ask a few questions and disappear for another year. So we deliberately cancelled our accreditation and re-applied through BSI.”

“This has proved much more demanding. BSI expects us to examine our business performance and quality in detail, pushing us to make continual improvements. The whole ethos of quality assurance is looking at the problems you encounter and the opportunities they present for improvement as you go along.”

“ISO 9001:2008 will enable us to continually improve customer satisfaction, quality performance and our organisational capability.”

The Quality Management System will be audited at regular intervals in order to successfully maintain accreditation to ISO 9001:2008 standard.

Alan Grady, Managing Director of Vision Profiles adds, “We recognise that product and service quality is essential for best in class performance in business today and ISO 9001:2008 will be a benchmark for this across the organisation.”

One Year Anniversary In New Premises

A year has passed since we made our move to our fantastic new building!! The time has flown and we have been growing bigger and stronger into our new surroundings.
It only seems like yesterday we were cutting the ribbon at the celebration open day, where we were joined by our customers and colleagues from Spain. It was a memorable day, enjoyed by all who participated.

2015 has been a fruitful year for Vision Profiles and we have ended the year on a high. This is a result of the valued custom and support of our existing clients and the welcome of all the new business we have received.

2016 is already causing a buzz of excitement here at Vision. Our growth and success in 2015 has paved the way for us to become the leading contender in Aluminium Extrusion and with our investment in our Operations and Fabrication departments and our new Anodising capabilities, the only way is up for Vision Profiles!

Vision Profiles Official Opening

Following the move to new premises, our new building was officially opened by Sr. Cortizo on 26th March. A great day was enjoyed by everyone and our “Big Red Bus” was a great hit with our customers and especially with all our friends from Cortizo.

We treated everyone to a very traditional English Tea , with the odd glass of wine, and I am pleased to say the day was a great success.

Thank you to everyone that attended and for the many who wrote saying what a good day it was.

MOVE TO NEW PREMISES

In January this year we moved into a new built 38,000 Ft² purpose built factory. The move has enabled us to bring all our stock and machining centre under one roof, with space to breathe. The space we now enjoy will enable us to be more efficient and improve our order picking times and service to all our customers.

New Logo /New Identity

Having taken the step to build new premises, we took the opportunity to re-vamp our logo and our look. Our marketing partner ROOM 58, based in Cheltenham, have come up with what we think is a great new look, our new sign is fresh and modern, and really helps us stand out from the crowd. Room 58 have also designed and installed our new website.

New Truck Graphics

We of course had to re-look at our truck, and again Room 58 came up with an innovative and striking design, and the trucks look great.
